Tanisha Laverne Grant Interviews Director John Singleton And Cast Of FX’s “Snowfall”

Los Angeles 1983. A storm is coming and its name is crack.  Snowfall is a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows numerous characters on a violent collision course, including: Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), a Mexican wrestler caught up in a power struggle within a crime family; Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), a CIA operative running from a dark past who begins an off-book operation to fund the Nicaraguan Contras and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios), the self-possessed daughter of a Mexican crime lord.

Created by John Singleton & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, Snowfall is executive produced by Singleton, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Amadio, Michael London and Trevor Engelson.

A former pageant winner who has won titles as Miss Black Pennsylvania USA and Miss Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, where she focused on radio, television and film studies and was inducted into the national theatrical honor society Alpha Psi Omega.

Tanisha has participated in the “Expressions in Beauty” exhibition at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, delivered the 144th Commencement Address to the graduating class of Chester High School, has been honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by People Building People for setting a positive image of African American Women in Media, and in 2016 she was awarded with the honor of “Entertainment Correspondent of the Year ” by Brown Women in Media! Tanisha continues to work as a freelance entertainment and features correspondent while raising awareness of the HBCU initiative to save Historical Black Colleges and Universities.
