Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Black Women for Wellness 20 on October 19th, 2017!

Black Women for Wellness is committed to healing, educating, and the support of Black women and girls! Black Women for Wellness started as sisterfriends with the Birthing Project in Los Angeles in 1997. We began as a group of women concerned about the health and well-being of our babies. As grandmothers, mothers, aunties, daughters, and sisterfriends, we found we had no choice but to take on the plethora of health issues Black women encounter.

Black & Beautiful Brunch 2017-LA @ The Spot
Oct 21 @ 11:30 pm – Oct 22 @ 2:30 pm

The Black & Beautiful Brunch provides a safe space for women who identify with the African diaspora to fellowship over food and positive energy while discussing issues that affect their lives and well-being as Black women. The intention is to provide a space for healing, conversation, as well as networking.

Every year, there is a different theme, which resonates with the experiences of Black women, and are selected due to current events. Previous themes have included:
2015: Say Her Name, Uplift her, Empower Her
2016: I AM My Sisters Keeper: Building Bonds, Practicing Self Care& Releasing the Superwoman Identity

This year’s theme is “My Black is Enough: Embodying Self-Love, Embracing My Sisters, & Epitomizing Excellence”

Come enjoy an afternoon of food, activities, networking and healing!

We will be taking monetary donations tp purchase items in support of our community partner, StandUp4Kids. StandUp4Kids provides street outreach, mentoring, outreach centers, and housing for homeless youth.

All tickets include brunch, bottomless mimosas, juice, gift bags, and program materials.
